Candid Forums

The site Voyeur Web which began around 2000 was another early site that would go on to feature quite a few candid thong pictures. The watermark from this site can be seen on many classic whale tail shots.

Another site that would develop into a large source of candid thong pics would be The Candid Board. Begun in 2003, this candid site and it's forum featured voyeur categories such as upskirts, downblouse, beach shots, street shots and eventually an entire section devoted to VPL/Downback pictures.

Candid Sites

It's around this time of the early 2000's world wide web that candid websites begin to popup. Shots taken by photographers of women in the streets begins to gain popularity and with the technology of the internet advancing it is now easier to upload these shots to a website or forum for mass viewing.

Starting in the late 90's there are several niche sites featuring pictures of candid female butts, with jeans, tight leather or other styles of pants being appreciated. Building on these earlier candid sites and with the emergence in popularity of thong underwear, whale tail pictures begin to become more and more common on these candid forums.

Beginnings: Yahoo Groups

In the beginning, Yahoo Groups was a good source of collected pictures and appears to be one of the earliest examples of shared whale tail pictures on the internet.

This first page was founded in 2000 and seems to be the first Yahoo Groups page entirely devoted to women with their thongs showing.
